Prologue

Long ago as the last ice age was melting, humans were beginning to make their marks on history. Most lived in villages, and they sought power. They believed animals had powers beyond their own, so village mages captured and tried to utilize their power. Instead they created monsters out of these animals, and did nothing to stop them. They let the demons free into the wild, and most humans refrained from creating any more of them.

But, however, a small group of mages created some of the most powerful demons the world had seen - and sent them out to destroy every other bit of life. But one group decides to come together in an attempt to stop them.

And the story begins...

Chapter 1: "The Beginning" wrote:"The air over the forest seemed still and dead. Mighty conifers rose into the air high above the ground, as if reaching for the sun that made the blanket of snow resting on the forest floor glitter. Every now and then a mound of snow would fall from a tree to the ground with a muffled thud, which quivered through the air like the boom of distant thunder. It seemed to be the only sound in the stillness that swallowed the woods."
